Fallbrook Trails Council Supports
all public use trails in the Fallbrook/Bonsall area.
We advocate for public, non-motorized trail use throughout our community. We attend area, county and state board meetings as needed to keep multi-use trails open. We stand up for trails wherever we can. We continue to work with local developers, neighboring trails committees and Fallbrook property owners, all of whom are interested in learning more about adding new trails and connecting existing Fallbrook trails to the larger networks of San Diego and California trails under the Trails Master Plan.
One of our main projects is the upkeep and safety on the trails at the Santa Margarita River Preserve. Fallbrook Trails Council has been entrusted with the recorded Recreational Trail Easement for the 18 miles of trails in the Santa Margarita River Valley.
The Santa Margarita River Preserve is PRIVATE PROPERTY. The 1,384 acres were purchased in 2018 by The Wildlands Conservancy. This land first and foremost is a wildlife preserve. There are several rules to adhere to while visiting. Visitors are only allowed on the marked trails. Before you go - please know the rules!
Fallbrook Trails Council works together with The Wildlands Conservancy to manage the18 mile trail system. FTC spends upwards of $20,000 per year on weed abatement, storm damage repairs, trail patrols, down trees and general upkeep. FTC is responsible for much of the trail maintenance and upkeep. We could use your help! Please donate.
